When I got the assignment, I sat thinking about which technology I felt was most important in my life and became amazed about how popular, of all the technology, cell phones have become. Itââ¬â¢s amazing that in our culture we make ourselves available every minute of every day. Many people donââ¬â¢t even have home phones anymore. Cell phones have become more of a necessity more than a need nowadays. They became an essential communication tool. Cell phone usage in the US has increased from 34 million to 203 million in the last ten years. Many may want to view the cell phone as your personal safety device, especially if you live alone, some distance from family, or. I find myself texting my loved ones more than I talk to them and because of it I feel more distant from them. Cell phones have also i ncreased crimes because itââ¬â¢s easier to plan illegal activity by texting. Before illegal activity was harder to plan for or pull off but with a way to easily communicate with others it makes it easier to commit crimes which is why polices have to tap most peopleââ¬â¢s phone which I think is an invasion of privacy and immoral. So in some ways I wish cell phones werenââ¬â¢t invented because it has corrupted the world and the way we live. Societies strive harder without technology and when they come to countries like the United States they have more morals and a better work ethic and social skills are sometimes better. According to research by CR Research, 22 percent of young children own a cell phone (ages 6-9), 60 percent of tweens(ages 10-14), and 84 percent of teens(ages 15-18).(Cell Phones) The study also showed that 37 percent of teens felt they wouldnââ¬â¢t be able to live without a cell phone once they had it (Cell Phones).
